About Us
The origins of our firm date back to 1934, when Mort B. Skewes opened his law office in Luverne, Minnesota. With a dedication to serving the legal needs of the community, Mort quickly established a strong reputation throughout Rock County.
In 1963, Marlyn Vollmer joined the practice, and the firm became known as Skewes and Vollmer. Together, they served clients with distinction until Mr. Vollmer’s passing in 1976. That same year, attorneys Tim Connell and Donald Klosterbuer joined the firm, ushering in a new era of leadership. In 1977, the firm name officially changed to Skewes, Klosterbuer and Connell.
A decade later, in 1987, Tim Connell was appointed to the bench. The firm then continued as Skewes and Klosterbuer. With the arrival of Terry Vajgrt in 1990, the practice became Skewes, Klosterbuer and Vajgrt.
Mort Skewes retired in 1992 and continued serving in an advisory role as “Of Counsel” until his passing in 1996.
In 2001, attorney Jeffrey Haubrich joined the firm. Following Terry Vajgrt’s departure in 2005, the firm became Klosterbuer & Haubrich, LLP, the name it continues to operate under today. In 2020, the team welcomed attorney David Owens, expanding the firm’s experience and capabilities.
Klosterbuer & Haubrich, LLP is proud to have served as the Rock County Attorney’s Office from 1969 to the present day.
With a legacy spanning more than 90 years, we remain committed to providing exceptional legal service to the people and institutions of Rock County and beyond.
